Luxury City Destination of the Year Cape Town

Aquila congratulates the Western Cape and the City of Cape Town, we are so proud to have been able to add value to this destination.
In 2015, we awarded Cape Town with the Luxury City Destination of the Year award, and after much consideration and searching; we have yet to find another location in Africa & Middle East to surpass it. And so this year once more we award Cape Town, for its fantastic shopping, glorious sunshine and leafy suburbs circling the towering Table Mountain. Cape Town features the V&A Waterfront, which impressed us with the wide range of international outlets and the world-class aquarium. We thought the Aquila Private Game Reserve was remarkable, showcasing 10,000 hectares of protected space filled with Africa’s most iconic animals.
We loved visiting the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in the south-east of the city, created to preserve some of the unique flora that flower and grow in South Africa. The gardens exhibit rare flora from all over the country and we truly enjoyed walking above the green tree tops on the ‘Boomslang’ raised wooden walkway, giving us a unique perspective.
As well as the natural beauty, we loved the extraordinary beaches and celebrity packed hillside suburbs. Camps Bay can claim to house Leonardo DiCaprio for sun-soaked trips, as well being an excellent place to drink in the wonderfully cosmopolitan atmosphere that Cape Town is renowned for.
