Lakeside Lodge & Spa hosts first triathlon
Submitted by: MyPressportal TeamBoutique five-star hotel, Lakeside Lodge & Spa close to Sedgefield and the Wilderness National Park, is hosting its first cross triathlon on Saturday, 17 September 2016 in partnership with TriSport. Set in the beautiful Garden Route, and entrenched in mountain and wilderness views, this estate will play host to the three-legged sporting event.
First of the three legs, the swim takes place in the Swartvlei Lake, then a cycle along the jeep tracks and gravel roads and a run along the Molerat hiking route. With a sprint and standard leg to choose from, the sprint leg consists of a 500m swim, 13km MTB and 2,1 km run at R200 per person while the standard leg consists of a 1 000m swim, 26km MTB and 5,5 km run at R300 per person, with each race open to teams or individuals.
Gearing up for a triathlon is very different because it’s a multi-sport race, and therefore training needs to be adjusted a little differently. Which is why Lakeside Lodge & Spa is offering beginners triathlon training sessions every Wednesday at 16:30 with personal trainer Karl Pietersen, to help participants get into shape. Training sessions start on Wednesday, 16 March right up until Wednesday, 14 September at a cost of R180 per person per session.
Along with the inaugural cross triathlon, Lakeside Lodge & Spa is offering participants special weekend luxury accommodation packages from Friday 16, September to Sunday, 18 September. Each tailored package includes three nights and guests save up to R1000 per night. Also included in each package is a 30-minute back massage spa treatment for two people at the luxury boutique in-house spa and a wine tasting experience of up to five Benguela Cove wines per person for two people.
