Air France Extends Direct Cape Town-Paris Route to May 2026 Following Unprecedented Demand
Written by: The Platinum Club Save to Instapaper
Air France has announced the extension of its seasonal route between Cape Town and Paris until 3 May 2026, following exceptional demand for the service. Initially scheduled as a limited seasonal operation until end of March 2026, the direct route has proven immensely popular among both South African travellers heading to Europe and international visitors flocking to the Mother City.
The extension comes as Cape Town continues to be one of South Africa’s most sought-after destinations, particularly during the northern hemisphere’s winter months, when travellers escape colder climates for Cape Town’s sunshine, beaches, and cultural vibrancy. Conversely, South Africans benefit from seamless connectivity through Air France’s extensive global network, offering direct access to Paris and easy onward travel to destinations across Europe and beyond.
Operating daily and perfectly timed for both European and South African travellers, flight AF0871 will depart Cape Town each morning at 08:50, arriving in Paris at 19:20. The return service, AF0890, departs Paris at 18:30, touching down in Cape Town at 06:45 the following day.
Powered by the state-of-the-art Airbus A350, passengers can expect an experience defined by French elegance, comfort, and world-class service. From Champagne served in every cabin to refined in-flight dining inspired by France’s culinary heritage, Air France continues to set the standard for luxury air travel.
“Cape Town remains one of the most inspiring destinations in our network, and we are thrilled to see such strong demand for our seasonal Paris–Cape Town route,” says Wilson Tauro, Country Manager Southern Africa at Air France–KLM. “This extension not only reflects the continued appetite for travel between Cape Town and Europe but also reinforces Air France’s commitment to connecting South Africans to the world with style, comfort, and efficiency. We are thrilled to offer our customers a longer window to experience this highly seasonal popular route.”
The extension of this route aligns with Air France’s ongoing investment in the South African market and reaffirms the airline’s confidence in the country’s tourism recovery and growing international appeal.
