More than one way to make an entrance - Meet the LEPAS L6 Javan and Pantera

From everyday connectivity and convenience to elevated comfort and intelligent driver assistance, the two L6 specifications bring their own flavour to the daily drive.

• The LEPAS L6 is offered in Javan and Pantera derivatives, both powered by the same 108 kW/225 N.m 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

• The Javan blends comfort, connectivity and convenience with features such as a 13.2-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, 50 W wireless charging, dual-zone climate control and a 540-degree surround-view camera.

The LEPAS L6 is offered in South Africa in two derivatives, Javan and Pantera, giving customers two distinct takes on the same stylish and well-equipped compact SUV package.

Both are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 108 kW and 225 N.m, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Claimed fuel consumption is 7.2 L/100 km.

While their mechanical foundations are shared, the difference comes down to how much comfort, convenience and technology customers want built into the experience.

L6 Javan: connected comfort, beautifully considered

The Javan lays a strong foundation, with a generous mix of comfort, connectivity and convenience features designed to make everyday driving feel that little bit easier.

Taking centre stage inside the cabin is a 13.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity and offline voice control. A 50 W wireless charging pad keeps compatible smartphones topped up without the cable clutter, while front and rear charging ports help keep everyone else connected on the move.

The driver’s seat offers six-way electric adjustment, while the front passenger benefits from four-way electric adjustment. Dual-zone automatic climate control allows those in front to dial in their preferred temperatures independently, with rear air vents extending the comfort to second-row passengers.

N95-level filtration also forms part of the cabin package, helping filter the air entering the vehicle and contributing to a more comfortable interior environment.

A panoramic sunroof adds light and openness to the cabin, while keyless entry, push-button start, remote engine start and an electric tailgate take some of the fuss out of the everyday routine.

Parking and manoeuvring are made easier by the L6’s 540-degree HD surround-view camera system, providing a clearer picture of the vehicle’s surroundings in tight parking bays, narrow driveways and other confined spaces. Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert add another layer of support when visibility is restricted.

L6 Pantera: deeper indulgence, elevated at every turn

For buyers wanting more from the cabin experience, the Pantera builds on the Javan with added comfort, technology and a few extra touches of indulgence.

Heated and ventilated front seats cater to both ends of South Africa’s weather spectrum, helping take the edge off a hot summer afternoon or a cold winter morning.

Power lumbar adjustment gives the driver greater control over the seating position, particularly on longer journeys, while an 8-speaker Sony Premium Audio System gives favourite playlists and podcasts a little more presence. Multi-colour ambient lighting adds another dimension after dark, allowing occupants to tailor the cabin atmosphere to suit the mood.

The Pantera also builds on the L6’s cabin air management system. In addition to N95-level filtration, it features a water-ioniser air-purification system and ozone functionality.

Intelligent support when the road demands more

The Pantera’s additional specification extends beyond comfort, with a broader suite of driver-assistance systems designed to support the driver in a wider range of everyday situations.

Adaptive Cruise Control can adjust the L6’s speed relative to traffic ahead, reducing the need for constant speed changes on longer highway journeys. Traffic Jam Assist lends a hand when the pace slows, helping ease some of the repetitive acceleration, braking and steering associated with congested traffic.

Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking provide additional support when a potential collision risk is detected, while Lane Departure Warning and Emergency Lane Keeping help monitor the vehicle’s position on the road.

Together with Integrated Cruise Assist, these systems form part of the L6’s broader suite of up to 19 advanced driver-assistance features, giving the Pantera an added layer of support when the road becomes more demanding.

Two expressions of L6. One unmistakable sense of refinement.

The two-derivative line-up gives customers a straightforward choice: the well-equipped Javan or the more comprehensively specified Pantera.

The LEPAS L6 1.5T Javan 6DCT is priced at R469,900, while the L6 1.5T Pantera 6DCT is priced at R499,900. Both derivatives are sold with a five-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, five-year/75,000 km service plan and 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty for the first owner.
