Hotel Izulu Hosts Organic Vegetable Garden Lessons

The 5-star Hotel Izulu in Ballito is continuing to inspire eco enthusiasts by offering a unique opportunity for guests to learn how to grow their own organic vegetable garden with expert Linda Galvad.  Hotel Izulu will host a two day workshop on 5 and 6 of November 2012.

Linda Galvad is a gourmet cook and has just been awarded the Rising Star Award for 2012 and Sought After Seedlings (www.soughtafterseedlings.co.za) is the proud recipient of a Gold Medal for the Italian Heirloom Edible Garden at Garden World, which includes the Chelsea Flower show South African stand.

Guests at Hotel Izulu will learn to plan where, how and what to plant, how to make biodegradable pots, companion planting, crop rotation, intercropping and mulching as well as micro-greening. Information will also be provided on hoop houses, mini greenhouses, pests and organic, pesticide recipes, vertical gardening, butterfly strings and beneficial insects and micro-greening demonstrations will also be held. Franchi Sementi seeds will be for sale.

The overnight packages include the two day course, all meals, accommodation and exclude gratuities, beverages and any other extras.  The cost of accommodation per person sharing is R2 250 and for single occupancy, R2 400 per person.  The course itself per person is R1 500 without accommodation.
