Submitted by: The P.R Team Save to Instapaper

The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC), sister property to the Relais & Châteaux member Camp Jabulani, collared and released a female cheetah named Susan onto Camp Jabulani's property in the Kapama Private Game Reserve on Saturday, 27 October 2012.

Susan was brought to HESC on 1 March 2012 from Vaalwater.  She was part of the Howard Buffet Foundation, however they took the decision to rehabilitate her and send her to HESC where she can breed and share her gene pool.  Her movements are currently being tracked via GPS satellite to ensure her wellbeing.

Another female cheetah was transferred from HESC to Hluluwe on Saturday by the curator, Christo Scheibers.  The cheetah was transported by HESC to Thanda Private Game Reserve on Saturday morning and put into the boma where she will remain in quarantine for 3 months before being released.

Comments Mrs Lente Roode: Founder of the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, "The successful relocation and release of the cheetahs was a proud moment for us and for conservation. Education, rehabilitation and returning animals to the wild is what we are passionate about."
