2012 - a revamped Relais & Châteaux Guide

Under the chairmanship of Jaume Tàpies, 518 exceptional properties in more than 60 countries are presented in the iconic annual Guide.

In 2012, 45 new Relais & Châteaux are welcomed into the Association including 19 new Grands Chefs, and 5 new cities (Neuchâtel - Switzerland, Brussels - Belgium, Porto - Portugal, Beijing - China and Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia) have emerged to provide new itineraries, or “Routes du Bonheur”, throughout the world. These properties, which reflect the stamp and character of exceptional men and women, proudly proclaim their motto:  ‘All around the world, unique in the world.’ A claim that applies as well to Paulo Coelho, the acclaimed Brazilian author and connoisseur of Relais & Châteaux, who has accepted to be the Relais & Châteaux 2012 Ambassador and who writes he introduction to this Guide.

The 2012 Guide aims to capture the imagination with photos and descriptions highlighting the uniqueness of each property, quotes from the innkeeper or Grand Chef and a few icons to see at a glance what each property has to offer.
