Telkom launches a conversational platform On the Couch with Telkom

25 August 2022, Johannesburg: Telkom has launcheda conversational platform, On the Couch with Telkom, to discuss topical issues that affect ordinary South African consumers. Staying true to the purpose of leaving no man behind, this show which will feature different guests from all walks of life, will be available from the 26 August 2022 on Telkom’s streaming platform, TelkomONE. The first part of the series will have a panel of dynamic and inspirational women who will speak under the series theme – “Live your Brilliance, be the best version of you”.
The first episode of a three-episode women empowerment series, hosted by Telkom brand's brand Influencer partner, Zizo Tshwete is called “Women of Impact’ featuring trailblazer, Amanda Dambuza, a seasoned South African businesswoman, who has been driving change in business and IT since the year 2000. She is joined by seasoned master coach, inspirational speaker and former CEO of Brand SA, Yvonne Johnston as well as founder of Black woman owned social media, insights and influencer relations agency, the Throne, Caron Williams.
The second episode, airing on the 29th August 2022 features Baratang Miya, the CEO of GirlHype – an NPO that empowers women and youth from underrepresented groups in the ICT sector and Sam Wright, better known as TechGirl, one of the biggest gaming influencers in the male-dominated space. This episode will be a discussion on how the digital economy and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) aids a new generation of female leaders.
Closing off the series on the 31st August 2022 is an episode on the success of female ICT entrepreneurs, where Mmathebe Zvobwo the Head of Enterprise and Supplier Development at Telkom Futuremakers will have a fruitful discussion with Thenjiwe Dlamini, an experienced Senior Strategy Manager in financial services and the Acting Chief Strategy and Information officer at the Small Enterprise and Development Agency (SEDA).

The first part of this series being launched during Women’s Month speaks to the celebration of the brilliance of women from all walks of life in the technology sphere. It is important to Telkom to be involved, support and shine a spotlight on the milestones that women continue to achieve,” states Gugu Mthembu, CMO at Telkom.
“On the Couch with Telkom is the beginning of many conversations and we want to leave all our consumers feeling like they too can live their brilliance and be the best version of themselves”, Mthembu concluded.
