Another milestone for iOlogue Media as The Travel Thread takes flight

iOlogue Media has once again shown its commitment to the power of the written word with the launch of The Travel Thread, its fourth new publication under the Africa InTouch News banner in less than two months. Following Karoo Times, De Kaap Echo and Rivier Rekord, the latest addition turns the spotlight to the spirit of travel, discovery and authentic connection across Southern Africa.
Founder and CEO of iOlogue Media Anchen Coetzee said there was no one better suited to lead The Travel Thread than veteran editor and seasoned traveller Mariana Balt.
"Mariana has explored the continent from bundu-bashing trails to the finest luxury destinations. She knows exactly what, where and when as far as travel goes," Coetzee said. "Her extensive experience as both a traveller and a photographer bring a rare depth, which is exactly why I believed she was the right choice to lead this publication. She also brings a quick wit and sharp insight that adds to her exceptional ability to capture the spirit of a journey."
Balt is an award-winning journalist who has served as editor for numerous newspapers both in South Africa and Namibia. She has been a senior writer with iOlogue Media for almost eight years.
Speaking about her vision for The Travel Thread, Balt said she hoped to capture the unique stories woven into every corner of Southern Africa.
"Every corner of this world has a vibrant tale to share," Balt said. "Whether it is the wild pulse of a safari, the rich tapestry of local traditions, or the quiet magic of an off-the-beaten-path adventure, we aim to celebrate life in its most colourful and adventurous form."
Balt added that readers could expect insider tips, vivid photo journals and narratives that ignite a spirit of curiosity and wonder.
"We will draw inspiration from the serendipitous magic of everyday encounters," she said. "It is about feeling the pulse of a place, savouring the beauty of ordinary moments, and uncovering the hidden gems that often go unnoticed."
With The Travel Thread now part of the Africa InTouch News family, iOlogue Media continues to weave a stronger, more connected narrative - one that values curiosity, celebrates life, and honours the power of a well-told story. This is not just another travel publication; it’s an invitation to see, feel, and explore Southern Africa, and sometimes beyond, with new eyes.
