Caroline’s 2025 edition of her annual Red Wine Review, hailed as one of the most prestigious tasting events on the South African wine calendar, will be staged on Thursday 24 July (17h00 until 21h00) in the Members’ Lounge on the 4th Floor of the DHL Stadium, Fritz Sonnenberg Road in Green Point, Cape Town.
Hosted by Caroline Rillema of the legendary Caroline’s Fine Wine Cellar, this world-class showcase gives wine enthusiasts the rare opportunity to experience an unparalleled line-up of the Cape’s flagship red wines all under one roof.
It’s an exclusive, evening event like no other, presenting 100 of South Africa’s most awarded and applauded top-level wines. South Africa’s leading red wine producers have been invited to show only one exceptional red wine each, and the winemakers themselves will be in attendance to meet and engage with.
The Cape’s top-tier Cabernet, Shiraz/Syrah, Merlot, Pinotage, Cinsault, Grenache, various niche varieties as well as classic Bordeaux-style, Rhône-style and Cape blends will be well represented at this celebrated walk-around tasting event. The Members’ Lounge is a large, spacious glass-fronted venue that opens onto a veranda, providing panoramic views of the stadium and beyond, setting the tone for an exhilarating occasion.
“We are delighted to bring the Cape’s top producers of the finest red wines together once again, providing an opportunity for wine lovers, collectors and sommeliers to mingle with the passionate people behind these phenomenal labels,” says Caroline, whose eponymous stores in Sea Point and Tokai are known internationally as among THE places to go to in Cape Town for the very best in wine.
