Future creators, storytellers, performers and innovators are invited to step into a live production environment and experience firsthand why Afda is known as “The No1 School for the Creative Economy.” Afda Day offers prospective students and their families an immersive look into the world of creative collaboration. Across Afda campuses, visitors will encounter live demo film shoot, performances, screenings, exhibitions and interactive creative showcases, all produced by Afda students and staff. The event combines the energy of the Afda Experimental Festival an annual celebration of bold and unconventional student work with the accessibility of an Open Day, creating an opportunity for guests to engage directly with the creative process. The festival has become a cornerstone of the Afda experience, encouraging students to push boundaries across film, television, live performance, business innovation and emerging technologies. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet award-winning, industry-leading professionals working across film, television, performance, writing, sound, animation, fashion, design, content creation, and creative entrepreneurship.
Tour Afda’s professional-standard facilities and gain insight into the institution’s approach to hands-on learning. From production studios and editing suites to performance spaces and collaborative creative hubs, Afda Day gives aspiring students a glimpse into the environments where ideas are developed into professional creative work. With campuses in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha and Hatfield, Afda continues to provide students with opportunities to create, collaborate and innovate within South Africa’s growing creative industries. Afda Day is more than an introduction to studying, it is an invitation to experience a community where creativity is actively made, explored and celebrated. Future creators are encouraged to join Afda on Saturday, 13 June from 10am and take the first step toward their creative future.
