InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town will open on December 15, with bookings available from December 22, introducing a renewed identity at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront.
First opened in 1997 by former South African President Nelson Mandela, the hotel enters a new phase with updated interiors, expanded facilities and new dining concepts.
Guest rooms and suites have been redesigned to reflect the hotel’s surroundings, offering views of Table Mountain, the harbour and the Waterfront. A new Club InterContinental Private Lounge has been added on the sixth floor, providing harbour and mountain views and an exclusive space for guests.
New dining experiences will be introduced, including the launch of Le Bistro de JAN by Michelin star Chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen alongside poolside and casual dining options, seasonally led menus and focus on small and sharing plates.
GM Joanne Selby said: “It may be a shiny new jewel but key elements were preserved. The most precious of these is our team. All staff have been retained and we look forward to delivering elevated hospitality with the familiar faces our guests know.”
Hotel facilities include an outdoor pool, spa and fitness centre. Classic rooms include a work desk, marble bathroom with separate bath and walk-in shower and king or twin bedding.
