Natural Selection has announced the development of Nkasa Linyanti, a six-room safari camp set to open in May 2026.
The camp will be located in Nkasa Rupara National Park in Namibia’s Zambezi Region and will operate on a private concession on Nkasa Island, bordered by the Kwando, Selinda and Linyanti river systems.
The site falls within the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area and is recognised as an important habitat for regional wildlife populations. Annual floods from Angola transform the landscape into wetlands, offering ecological conditions similar to those of the Okavango Delta.
Nkasa Linyanti will be the only camp on the island and will form part of the park’s wider conservation efforts.
The camp’s six tented suites will be raised above the floodplains and have been designed to minimise environmental impact. Each will be connected by pathways to a central lounge and dining area. The camp will include a fire pit, swimming pool and bar area, and will be fully solar powered with water treatment systems.
Jennifer Lalley, Co-Founder and Chief Impact Officer at Natural Selection, said: “This park provides a crucial corridor for regional elephant movement and supports breeding herds of buffalo, the full carnivore guild and an incredible diversity of species within its savannah, riverine and wetland habitats. Its position in the very centre of an important transboundary conservation area means that it’s protection, or lack of protection, has cascading effects on all surrounding areas. It is for this reason that we are investing here and devoting a significant portion of our conservation funds to support the park’s warden and rangers.”
Access to Nkasa Linyanti will be available by air and road. FlyNamibia offers connections from Windhoek to Maun and Katima Mulilo. Guests can then take a light aircraft charter from Katima Mulilo to Lianshulu Airstrip for a road transfer to camp. Road transfers from Katima Mulilo, Kasane and Victoria Falls will also be available.
Self-drive access is possible to the park entrance where guests will transfer to the camp by game drive vehicle.
