Acer And SOS Children’s Village Collaborate To Foster Digital Inclusion And Skills In Lesotho

Acer says this initiative underscores its broader mission to bridge the digital divide across Africa, bringing crucial technological access to underserved communities.

From Monday, 19 to Thursday, 22 May, Acer says it was on the ground at the SOS Village in Lesotho, documenting the impact of this sustained partnership. Acer captured stories of hope, progress and the potential unlocked through consistent support and investment.

The visit culminated in a feature article and video case study, titled 'Bridging the Digital Divide: How Acer and SOS Children's Villages are Empowering Lesotho'. The content highlights how access to digital tools, coupled with long-term commitment, is nurturing a generation of confident and capable young individuals, providing not just connectivity but the skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world, says the brand.

Lesego Bobbi Nyamane, Marketing Manager at Acer Africa, says, "Our commitment goes beyond devices; it's about enabling progress and supporting the environments that help young people grow, learn and thrive. We recognise the vital role that SOS Children's Village plays in providing care, stability and a sense of belonging to children across Lesotho."

This latest donation of computing devices will provide support for both learners and dedicated educators at the SOS Village. It will furnish the essential infrastructure needed to access vital learning resources, cultivate critical digital skills and unlock boundless potential within a nurturing and secure environment, says Acer.

Acer Africa concludes that its partnership with SOS Children's Villages exemplifies its core CSR ethos — a commitment to fostering long-term, meaningful impact over fleeting gestures, and investing in tangible, measurable outcomes for communities across the African continent.
