All eyes are on the RMB National Squad as the countdown begins for the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta (FOQR) set to unfold in Lucerne, Switzerland, from the 19th to the 21st of May 2024. This event marks the last chance for athletes to secure coveted spots at the upcoming Olympic Games, and the RMB Team is primed for the challenge.
With unwavering support from Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), the leading sponsor of Rowing South Africa, the team has been driven by determination, resilience, and unwavering dedication. RMB has stood by the athletes, recognising their sacrifices and commitment as they tirelessly prepared, both mentally and physically, to realise their Olympic dreams.
"Over the last few years, we have witnessed the dedication, resilience, and sacrifice of the RMB National Squad as they prepare mentally and physically to achieve their Olympic dreams," commented RMB’s Head of Brand Lucy Lightfoot. "Competing against the best in the world when the difference between first and third place often comes down to a fraction of a second requires a spirit that embraces bravery and grit."
Acknowledging the profound impact of the team's efforts, RMB expressed not only pride but also inspiration drawn from their relentless pursuit of excellence. Their journey illuminates the path for future generations of South African talent, instilling a sense of aspiration and ambition within the nation's sporting landscape.
"We are not only proud but inspired by their pursuit of excellence and their impact on South Africa’s talent of the future. From everyone at RMB, we wish them all the best for the crucial regatta in Lucerne this weekend."
With the support of RMB and the collective spirit of a nation behind them, the South African rowing team stands poised to seize this opportunity. As they navigate the waters of Lake Rotsee, their skill and unwavering determination will be on full display, embodying the enduring spirit of South Africa's sporting landscape.
