Written by: Clearwater Mall Save to Instapaper
Does running feel intimidating? Perfect, that’s exactly where this programme will prove you wrong!
Clearwater Mall has teamed up with Panorama Running Club to launch a beginner-friendly Couch to 5km programme, built to get first-timers off the sofa and across the finish line in just one month.
No lycra-clad experience required. Just bring yourself, a decent pair of trainers and a willingness to get moving.
The details
📅 22 July to 19 August 2026
⏰ Wednesdays and Fridays, 6:30am to 7:15am
📍 Meet at the Piazza, Clearwater Mall
Sessions are free to join, and anyone who completes the full four weeks of training will earn a 50% sponsored entry ticket from Clearwater Mall towards the 5km Fun Run on 22 August, the perfect way to put those new running legs you never thought you could have to the test.
Community support and motivation
Prianka Singh Rodgers, Marketing Manager at Clearwater Mall, said: “You don't need to be a runner to start this programme, you just need to show up. We’ve seen how a bit of company and a regular routine can turn ‘I could never run 5km’ into ‘I just did’. It’s about having fun while you get fit, together with your community.”
Register on the Clearwater Mall website today and take the first step from couch to 5km.
Disclaimer: Participation is voluntary. Participants are encouraged to consult a healthcare professional before starting the programme, should exercise at a pace suited to their own ability and accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage arising from taking part. clearwatermall.co.za
