Ballots Tree House has recently undergone a radical transformation from a single bedroom game lodge style accommodation into 3 bedroom self catering seaside accommodation.  The downstairs rooms have been appointed so that they make full use of the tree and forest views, across to the Meulen lagoon mouth. Ballots Tree House is set just above a pebble beach, right on the waters edge in a cluster of Milkwood trees.  It’s a breathtakingly beautiful location and possibly one of the finest self catering Garden Route destinations for a holiday or weekend getaway.

The accommodation consists of 3 lovely rooms tastefully decorated in a beach comber’s antiquity style, with a quirky blend of old and new.  Top quality linen, comfortable furnishings and modern kitchen appliances complete the picture.  The upstairs living room has a cosy wood burning fireplace for winter and a large deck facing the sea with a Weber braai and ample outside seating and al fresco dining.

Ballots Bay on the Garden Route – just outside the city of George was originally developed as a residential resort in 1992 and is set within George Private Nature reserve. The entire development is strictly controlled so as to blend in with nature with minimal disturbance to the surroundings. The Eco Aware building regulations ensure a minimal footprint on the land and all homes are made of natural timber. The grey water and sewerage treatment facilities are dealt with on site and as such, there is minimal water wastage.  Homes are prevented from having more than ten square meters of landscaped lawn – and as such it is a nature lover’s delight.

Families will delight in Ballots Bay Tree House as it comfortably sleeps 2 couples and 2 children – perfectly suited for Mom & Dad, Grandparents and 2 children in bunk beds. The upstairs has a shared shower room and toilet; while downstairs has 1 en-suite toilet with bath and further shared toilet with laundry facilities.  Both a washing machine and a tumble drier ensure comfort for longer stay.
