Cook for Dreams and help Reach For A Dream break a Guinness World Records™ title

Emperors Palace is proud to announce it’s participation in the Reach For A Dream Cooking for Dreams initiative – a virtual cook-a-long aiming to unite enthusiastic cooks across South Africa on the 24 June 2021. The event aims to break a Guinness World Record title for the most people cooking online simultaneously, while raising funds for children fighting life-threatening illnesses.

The Foundation has partnered with celebrity chefs, J’Something and Chef David Higgs as well as sponsors Woolworths, Discovery Vitality, DHL and Emperors Palace to launch Cooking For Dreams. The My Kitchen Rules duo, J’Something and Chef David Higgs will reunite from Vitality’s HeathyFood Studio, while  the event is streamed from the Studio Iris broadcast studio at Emperors Palace. The master cooks have created a special recipe for the occasion and curated the Cooking For Dreams box full of incredible ingredients.

‘We have a long history with Reach for a Dream and when they asked if we wanted to be involved, we didn’t hesitate,’ says Emperors Palace Operational Executive Clive Tavener. ‘Reach for a Dream does outstanding work and we are proud to be part of this challenge to break a world record.’

The event promises to be the biggest virtual cook-a-long the world has ever seen and Reach For A Dream invites anyone to participate by purchasing the Cooking for Dreams box. On Thursday, 24 June 2021 all eyes will turn to Studio Iris and the Discovery Vitality HealthyFood Studio as J‘Something, Chef David Higgs and thousands of South Africans cook a scrumptious, record-breaking dish.

‘The Cooking For Dreams cook-a-long is a fun way to get families, schools and corporates together in their kitchens to cook, while helping children facing life-threatening illnesses realise their dreams through the funds raised.  We are looking forward to uniting South Africans as everyone comes together to cook for a cause and attempt to break a record with Guinness World Records,’ says Reach For A Dream CEO, Julia Sotirianakos.

The exciting moment will come together when everyone joins in virtually from the safety and comfort of their homes and attempt to break the Guinness World Records title for the most people cooking online simultaneously. The Foundation aims to have 3000 cooks join online and encourages everyone to get involved and cook for a good cause to help make dreams come true for children fighting life-threatening illnesses.
