SAFSA KZN is proudly affiliated with the South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA) and the International Skating Union (ISU), aligning the province with both national and international standards for figure skating. In keeping with SAFSA’s official slogan, SAFSA KZN is committed to excellence, growth, and the advancement of the sport across all levels. As a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) run entirely by dedicated volunteers, SAFSA KZN works to promote and develop figure skating throughout KwaZulu-Natal. The federation is supported by the KwaZulu-Natal Sports Confederation and the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, strengthening its capacity to deliver structured programmes and competitive opportunities. The primary objective of SAFSA KZN is to develop figure skating as a competitive Olympic winter sport in South Africa, nurturing athletes from grassroots participation through to elite performance on the national and international stage.

Beyond competition, we are a community-focused sports federation eager to help the public embrace the joy of figure skating. We assist with children’s birthday parties to ensure young skaters are safe and confident on the ice, coordinate school excursions to the rink, and facilitate dynamic on-ice team-building experiences for corporate groups. Through these initiatives, SAFSA KZN promotes safe participation, skill development, and a lifelong love for the sport.
