What the exam guides show

Each subject page has an exam guide taken from the DBE question papers. It lists the papers, marks, time, number of pages, what comes with the paper and the printed instructions.

Some examples from the November 2025 papers:

  • Physical Sciences: Paper 1 (Physics) comes with 3 data sheets and Paper 2 (Chemistry) with 4 data sheets. Question 1 in both is multiple choice, 10 items of 2 marks each.
  • Mathematics: Paper 1 comes with 1 information sheet and an answer book of 23 pages. Paper 2 comes with 1 information sheet and an answer book of 27 pages.
  • Geography: each paper comes with a 1 : 50 000 topographical map and a 1 : 10 000 orthophoto map, which must be handed to the invigilator at the end.
  • Business Studies: in Section B you answer any two of three questions, and in Section C any one of two essay questions.
  • English First Additional Language: in Paper 2 you answer questions from any two of the four sections: Novel, Drama, Short Stories and Poetry.

Where the papers print a mark and time table, the guide also tracks topics and marks across past exams. For example, every Geography Grade 12 past paper and memo from November 2021 to May/June 2026 gives Question 1 and Question 2 60 marks each and the mapwork question 30 marks.

How the quizzes work

56 subjects have an exam questions quiz. The questions are copied word for word from DBE papers, and the memo answer is shown after you attempt each one.

The Physical Sciences quiz has 40 multiple choice questions from the 2023 to 2025 papers. The Life Sciences quiz has 45 Section A questions, and the Accounting quiz has 33 concept questions from Paper 1 and Paper 2.

How to use the papers before your next exam

  1. Open your subject page and read the exam guide so you know the marks, time and rules before you start.
  2. Download a recent November paper and its memo. Write the paper in the time printed on the cover.
  3. Mark your answers with the memo and note the questions where you lost marks.
