Mandela Day - SpringAge Unites Youth Leaders in Qunu
Written by: Save to InstapaperReturning to Madiba's birth place Qunu on Mandela Day for the third time, SpringAGE targets five schools Umtata International School, Umtata High School, Zamuklungisa High School and Milnerton Mbekela , bringing together 20 pupils consisting of high leadership potential and the most motivated to celebrate and unpack the life of Nelson Mandela and inspiring behaviours that made him a leader - they do this as part of their 67 minutes.
The program will give the stsudets a chnace to hear untold leadership Tata Manadela stories and unpack the leadership llessona nd behavior in all.
The will get a chnace to adapt the lesson to tehir personal, cmmunitya nd cschool context as think of ways to innovate on them and apply in their daily lives. Raelene Rorke, co-founder of SpringAGE says: "it is so important to understand the daily rituals of great leaders such as Tata Mandela , because a leaders doesn't just wake up one morning and realise theyr are an influencial leader, they have to do the daily work and make positive leadership behaviours habits" With its mission to combat youth employment in South Africa, since 2011, SpringAGE has started a broad movement of South African youth leaders across the country. SpringAGE offers an effective infrastructure to reach out to young leaders and create lasting connections between them with the aim to foster co-creation, crowd-sourcing and exchange of best practice. By working with government, prvate sector and entrpreneurs - SpringAGE is fostering and facilitating the co-creation of scalable enetities that are scalable.
They do this effectively through their innovative process of SpringBREAK and springREFINERIES... Neliswa Fente, the other SpringAGE co-founder adds: "The SpringBREAKs will allow the selected youth leaders to come up with innovative, practical projects that we assist them in refining, but they start straight away, Once proof of concept is done, the SpringAGE team will arrange for the co-creation from business, government and non-profit"
