‘CULTURAL CONTRASTS’ EXHIBITS AT THE GALLERY
Submitted by: The P.R Team‘The Gallery’ at the award-winning Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, Franschhoek, proudly presents a solo exhibition, ‘Cultural Contrasts’, by celebrated Pretoria-based artist, Willie van Rensburg, which opens on Sunday, 16 October 2011 at 11h00 with the Director of the Association of Arts Pretoria, Pieter van Heerden, as the opening speaker and runs until16 November 2011.
The title of the show makes references to the contrasts of historical African traditions and contemporary African society. Inspired by these elements, the artist apply masks and symbols in his work with bold design and colour, in order to establish a contemporary approach to the preservation of the symbolic references and heritage of African folklore.

‘The Project Room’ will present the Cape Craft and Design Institute’s ‘Handmade Collection’.
