Congratulations to the new MMCs
Written by: MyPressportal Team Save to InstapaperYesterday two very dedicated, honest and deserving DA councillors were appointed as the Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) in Johannesburg. Councillor Funzela Ngobeni, the former MMC for Development Planning, will now serve as the MMC for Finance, and DA Councillor Reuben Masango will now serve as MMC for Development Planning.
I would like to congratulate both councillors on their appointment, I trust that they will continue making a positive contribution in their respective roles by putting the residents of the City first through delivering quality services, enabling job creation and stopping corruption.
Masango was elected as a councillor in the City of Johannesburg after the municipal elections in August 2016 and was allocated Soweto Wards 36 & 38 in Region D. He is also the DA Johannesburg Caucus Treasurer.
I would like to thank Councillor Masango for the great work he has done in the wards that he served, I believe he will do well in his new appointment as an MMC with MMC Ngobeni leaving him a portfolio that he managed efficiently.
I wish them both a successful journey ahead, with our support I know that the people of Johannesburg will see and feel the change that they voted for.
