Plettenberg Bay Arts Association presents two exhibitions at Plett Arts Festival 2026

As part of the Plett Arts Festival, taking place from 25 September to 4 October 2026, the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association will present two distinct exhibitions showcasing the depth and diversity of the region’s creative community.

The White House Collection, hosted at The White House Venue, will feature a curated selection of established artists within a refined gallery setting. The exhibition focuses on high-quality, collectable art works and is guided by a panel of respected figures within the art industry.

The curatorial panel includes:

  • Barbara Lenhard, German-born and based in Cape Town, is an established art advisor and curator. She is one of the Directors of The Artists Gallery and 33BREE in Cape Town, where she curates exhibitions for both spaces as well as for The Travelling Art Gallery across Europe, expanding access to South African art.
  • Elize Bezuidenhout, is a South African fine artist and art teacher known for her work in oils and acrylics, with a strong focus on portrait and character studies.

She studied Graphic Design at Pretoria Technikon (now Tshwane University of Technology) before pursuing her passion for art full time from 2014. Her work has been recognised in multiple national competitions, including the Thami Mnyele Awards, Vuleka Art Competition, Sanlam Portrait Awards and SASA.

Elize’s work is held in private collections locally and internationally, and she is represented by Gallop Hill Galleries

  • Dallas Smith, is an established South African artist whose work has been closely associated with the Plettenberg Bay and Knysna region for over 25 years. Known for his distinctive style and strong sense of place, his work has attracted a loyal international collector base and is held in private collections worldwide.

Together, the panel brings a combination of curatorial insight, artistic excellence and regional relevance to the selection process.

In contrast, Community Canvas, hosted at Plett Community Hall, offers an open and inclusive platform for artists at all stages. Designed to be accessible and engaging, this space will include exhibitions, live demonstrations, workshops and a vibrant, market-style atmosphere.

Together, these two exhibitions reflect the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association’s commitment to both elevating artistic excellence and supporting a broad creative community.
