The future of forecourt logistics is here
Submitted by: Vector Logistics
Operators of forecourt retail operations are entering an exciting new era of efficiency as Vector Express officially launches in South Africa.
Vector Express – a new offering from Vector Logistics - is enabling the channel to market for servicing forecourts and non-major retail customers nationally across South Africa. The solutions are enabled via the implementation of a dedicated fleet of vehicles optimised for the forecourt solution.
“With a network of nearly 3000 sites across the country, forecourts represent a crucial segment in the retail market and they are demanding speed and efficiency – our new offering is targeting turnaround times on deliveries of 15 minutes – making it a game-changer for operators,” says Keith Pienaar, CEO of Vector Logistics.
Vector Logistics is the powerhouse behind seamless cold chain solutions, delivering innovative logistics and supply chain expertise across Southern Africa.
The Vector Express solution comprises:
- A small agile fleet enabled to service forecourts and non-major retail customers which can service forecourts after hours where applicable
- The offering is based on based on a standard charge per case using a configuration of 40cm x 30cm x 30cm (9kg Volumetric Mass @ 4000VF)
- Forecourts will receive 2 Next Day Deliveries (NDDs) per week in Main Hubs (Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria) while regional forecourts will receive 1 NDD per week depending on Volume and Demand
The Vector Express solution allows Vector Logistics to utilise its competitive advantage of a national footprint allowing products to move from the factory into the hands of consumers. FMCG businesses and forecourt operators can leverage this expertise by accessing technology which allows for forecasting tools, debtor and credit management and industry-leading fleet technology.
Pienaar concludes: “The channel between FMCG businesses and forecourts is more critical than ever, with operators demanding faster, smarter, and more efficient logistics solutions. Vector Express seeks to redefine this space, delivering the speed, agility and intelligence needed to keep businesses ahead in an evolving market."
