Track DNA. Street Legitimacy. The TVS Apache RR310 arrives in South Africa through the Nexus Collective - bringing engineered performance, Michelin Road 5 rubber, and race-derived electronics to local tarmac at a price that rewrites the rulebook.
South Africa's biker community has a new reason to pay serious attention. The TVS Apache RR310 - a fully-faired supersport machine - is now available locally through The Nexus Collective, bringing race-ready performance and cutting-edge electronics to a class long dominated by European price tags.
Born from a collaboration between TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad, the Apache RR310 shares its engine DNA with the BMW G 310 R platform. But make no mistake - this motorcycle is uniquely TVS.
Designed entirely in India by TVS engineers and honed through over four decades of TVS Racing heritage dating back to 1982, the RR310 is the brand's first fully-faired production motorcycle. The aerodynamic bodywork, shark-inspired Akula silhouette - a concept that won Best Concept Bike at Auto Expo 2016 - and aggressive forward-biased seating position leave no ambiguity about what this machine was built to do.

Engine And Performance
The 312.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine uses a reverse-inclined configuration - a layout that optimises mass centralisation and lowers the centre of gravity for sharper handling.
With 38PS at 9,800rpm and a kerb weight of just 174kg, the power-to-weight ratio makes the RR310 an agile, responsive machine whether threading through city traffic or hunting apexes on a track day.
The official 0-60 km/h sprint is dispatched in 2.82 seconds.
The engine features Twin Overhead Cams with hollow camshafts carrying 30% lower valve train mass, and a finger follower with Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating for durability at high revs.
A horizontal split crankcase reduces engine weight by 10% while a 23-row liquid-cooled oil-cooling system keeps temperatures in check under sustained hard riding.
Chassis, Suspension And Rubber
The RR310 is built around a lightweight trellis frame - a racing-origin design that delivers high stiffness-to-weight ratio for precise dynamic response at speed and agile manoeuvrability in traffic.
At the front, inverted telescopic forks handle suspension duties, while the rear is managed by a race-tuned KYB monoshock featuring monotube floating piston technology with hydraulic stopper and check valves for precise damping across a wide range of conditions.
Stopping power comes from a front disc brake with four-piston calliper backed by dual-channel ABS with rear wheel liftoff protection - allowing riders to brake later into corners with confidence.
Wrapping the 17-inch alloy wheels is a set of Michelin Road 5 tyres, engineered with next-generation compounds and Michelin's patented ACT+ technology for superior cornering grip and premium ride feel.
It is a factory fitment that punches well above the bike's price class.
Electronics And Tech Suite
Where the RR310 truly separates itself is in its electronics package - a spec sheet that would look at home on machines costing three times the price.
Four riding modes (Track, Sport, Urban and Rain) adjust ABS intervention, traction control and throttle response via a state-of-the-art electronic throttle control system.
The 6-speed gearbox is mated to a bi-directional quickshifter for clutchless up and downshifts under hard acceleration and braking.
A race-tuned slipper clutch prevents rear wheel hop on aggressive downshifts, enabling later braking and more precise corner entry.

Glide Through Technology Plus
Snake Fang LED tail lights
The SmartXonnect-enabled Multi Information Race Computer serves up a full suite of ride analytics via Bluetooth - including lap times, top speed, gear shifting points, G-force data, and post-ride analysis directly on the rider's smartphone.
In Track mode, the display clears to show a vertical tachometer and racing telemetry only.
A dedicated control cube on the handlebar allows mode switching on the fly without taking hands off the bars.
Aerodynamics Engineered, Not Styled
The RR310's bodywork is not simply cosmetic.
Extensive wind tunnel testing produced a best-in-class drag coefficient, and the first-in-segment race-tuned winglets generate up to 3kg of downforce at speed - meaningfully improving high-speed stability and confidence under braking.
Patented gill vents in the fairing channel hot air away from the engine, while the reverse-inclined engine configuration enables a ram-air intake effect that improves volumetric efficiency.
The cylinder head is engineered to reduce engine temperature by up to 40°C versus conventional layouts.
More Than A Commuter, Less Than A Compromise
One of the RR310's most compelling qualities is its genuine versatility.
Unlike dedicated track tools that punish you for commuting, the Apache handles urban duties without complaint - assisted by Glide Through Technology Plus, which enables smooth low-speed progress without constant clutch-throttle coordination.
Experienced riders will appreciate the full performance unleashed in Track mode; newer riders will find Urban and Rain modes genuinely accessible and confidence-inspiring.
It is the rare supersport that works equally well on a gymkhana layout and a Sunday blast through the Magaliesburg passes.
For riders who want to go further, TVS offers optional Built-to-Order performance and styling kits - including fully adjustable suspension, tyre pressure monitoring, a brass-coated performance chain, and additional race electronics.
All BTO configurations are available through The Nexus Collective at the point of order.
