WILDED hosts Easter scavenger hunt after dark at Crocworld!

This year is set to be the most egg-citing Easter yet with outdoor education group WILDED launching its WILD Park After Dark Easter Scavenger Hunt at Crocworld Conservation Centre on Friday, 29 March from 5pm. This is the ultimate family-friendly experience that combines the fun of Easter egg scavenging with the thrill of after-dark animal spotting!

“Visiting Crocworld Conservation Centre is always a fantastic experience for everyone, young and old, but there’s something really special about visiting the centre at night!” said Crocworld Conservation Centre Manager, James Wittstock. “The WILDED team has organised a spectacular evening of activities which will not only engage the family but also introduce them to the wonder of animals and the importance of conservation.”

WILD Park after Dark Easter Scavenger Hunt

5.30pm to 6pm: Start with a nighttime crocodile feeding of Henry the Nile crocodile – the oldest Nile croc in captivity worldwide – and his many wives.6pm to 7pm: Join in the scavenger hunt around Crocworld Conservation Centre to find Easter Eggs.7pm to 7.30pm: A guided tour and hunt for scorpions around Crocworld Conservation Centre using UV lights.

There will be face painting and fun activities in between! There will also be glow-in-the-dark items for sale, as well as boerewors rolls, snacks, and beverages for the whole family.

Russel Symcox of WILDED said the event is being organised to create community spirit, educate families about wildlife and conservation, and raise funds for WILDED’s ongoing outdoor education initiatives.

“This is going to be a memorable outing for the whole family and we’re very grateful to the Croworld team for hosting the first-ever WILD Park after Dark Easter Scavenger Hunt,” said Symcox. “Our wildlife conservation and education values align, and we hope that our guests leave with more than just a basket filled with delicious Easter eggs! Giving youngsters a real-world experience in nature is the best grounding for a lifelong dedication to conservation, and an appreciation for the natural world.”

Participants are encouraged to bring a basket to collect Easter eggs and get to Crocworld Conservation Centre at 5pm to register. Tickets are available at the door for R100 per person, or R80 per person for families of four or more.
