Johannesburg 22 September 2021 - Twizza, a proudly South African carbonated beverage company, rallied behind a club level tournament aimed at developing grass roots players in local communities into fully fledged SA stars.
The Twizza Netball Club Championship started in May 2021 and culminates in the finals this weekend , 23 – 26 September 2021, at the Heartfelt Arena, Tshwane. The finals will see players from all nine provinces compete as they battle it out to be the 2021 Twizza Netball Club Champions.
“We’re very excited to see who comes out on top at the finals in Tshwane this weekend. The tournament has been played in local communities, where 52 districts participated. The competition has been fierce and there have been some real stars who have been given a chance to shine,” says Coertzen.
For Netball South Africa, the tournament has been a great opportunity to identify talent and provide consistent competition for all players across the country.“We are grateful to Twizza for supporting the club netball tournament and for the opportunity players have had to access to the sport at grassroot level. The past months of competition has been the catalyst for real growth and we cannot wait to witness the progress made by all the participants since May. We believe the finals this weekend will be tough with some great netball played by all the teams.” concluded Cecilia Molokwane, Netball South Africa President.
