Gqeberha, South Africa – March 17, 2025—The South African Gold Coin Exchange and The Scoin Shop are proud sponsors of  67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day, a non-profit organisation dedicated to spreading warmth and happiness. In collaboration with Walmer Park Shopping Centre, the partnership will bring an exciting activation to the mall on Saturday, March 22, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Edgars Court.

This special event follows the monumental reveal of "The Hugest Happiness Blanket" by 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day at Nelson Mandela University (NMU) on World Happiness Day, March 20. To amplify this celebration, The South African Gold Coin Exchange & The Scoin Shop, alongside Walmer Park Shopping Centre, has recreated the giant blanket in a smaller form for display at the mall. Visitors are invited to admire this beautifully scaled-down version, participate in a knit-a-thon, and explore a showcase of over 30 handcrafted designer blankets, each a testament to the extraordinary craftsmanship of 67 Blankets volunteers.

Walmer Park Shopping Centre patrons can also look forward to interactive fun and the chance to win Happiness Hampers, featuring exclusive commemorative Mr Happy coins from The South African Gold Coin Exchange & The Scoin Shop, Walmer Park Shopping Centre vouchers and branded 67 Blankets merchandise. This activation not only celebrates creativity and community spirit but also offers an opportunity to learn more about the 67 Blankets movement, meet ambassadors, and discover how to become a volunteer.
