Menlyn Maine’s Gallery of Giving Ignites Mandela Day Spirit

Pretoria, South Africa — July 16, 2025 — Menlyn Maine Central Square, in collaboration with 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day, Pam Golding Properties, The Scoin Shop, Embassy Direct, and Mini Menlyn, has been celebrating Mandela Month with the electrifying Gallery of Giving, honouring Nelson Mandela’s legacy.

Hosted at Menlyn Maine Central Square, the Gallery of Giving is dazzling visitors with vibrant handmade blankets crafted by 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day volunteers and over thirty Mandela-inspired artworks from a private collection. Open until the end of July, the exhibition is sparking huge enthusiasm. “The Gallery of Giving blends stunning art with the incredible craftsmanship of our volunteers, igniting the spirit of Mandela Month,” says Brendan Grealy, head of the Executive Committee of 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day. Any of the designer blankets can be secured via a donation process, with funds going towards the mission of 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day. 

Mandela Month inspires South Africans to channel Madiba’s courage and compassion. “We’re honouring his vision with a bold celebration of community and giving,” says Natasha Koning, Centre Manager for Menlyn Maine Central Square. Mini Menlyn is amplifying the impact, with their generous wool donation driving the creation of more blankets. “We’re all in to support this vibrant cause,” says Richard Nwamba, dealer principal at Mini Menlyn.

On Friday, July 18th, Pam Golding Properties will bring their Jars of Hope initiative to the Menlyn Maine Piazza. “ We are looking forward to a meaningful 67 minutes on Friday, championed by our agents and clients. Jars of Hope is an ongoing campaign supporting vulnerable communities, and the Gallery of Giving gives us a platform to spotlight our efforts”, concludes Stephen Kruger,  Regional Manager, Marketing at Pam Golding Properties.

Visitors to Menlyn Maine Central Square, who come to experience the Gallery of Giving, are invited to make donations to 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day in support of Mandela Month and enter a competition to win a share of R10,000 in prizes.
