Rising from the vibrant musical landscape of Somerset West, local pop sensation Shaza has captured hearts with her dynamic performances and commanding vocals. Now, she's thrilled to introduce her inaugural body of work with the release of her nine-track debut album, 'Kaleidoscope.’
Produced by the five-time SAMA-nominee Daniel Baron, this captivating project offers listeners a rich fusion of soul, Afropop, and an array of other genre influences. With Baron's seasoned expertise guiding the way, each track on the album takes listeners on a sonic journey through diverse musical landscapes.
Shaza’s current single ‘Happy’ is already making waves on radio and streaming charts across South Africa with incredible support from stations like Jacaranda FM, East Coast Radio, KFM and more. As such, anticipation for ‘Kaleidoscope’ has been steadily building. Her debut single ‘Just Hold On’ also received significant radio play across the country and has all been building to the unveiling of this project.
Reflecting on her creative process, Shaza shares, "I wanted to push myself creatively and explore new sonic landscapes while staying true to my identity as an artist. 'Kaleidoscope' represents the culmination of that journey—a kaleidoscope of sounds, emotions, and experiences.”
Inspired by the kaleidoscope of life's colourful array, Shaza embarked on a quest to craft an album that resonates deeply with listeners. Each song serves as a snapshot of her innermost thoughts, dreams, and life experiences, painting a vivid picture of her personal and artistic journey.
When creating the album, Shaza explains that there was significant personal and artistic development. “The past couple of years presented both challenges and highlights, shaping not only my life but also my music,” she says. “This album represents an authentic expression of my experiences and current journey, and I take great pride in its honesty and authenticity.”
The singer adds "I poured my heart and soul into this album. Each song is a polaroid snapshot of a moment, a feeling, a memory. I hope it resonates with listeners just as deeply as it resonates with me. This project represents the culmination of my personal and artistic journey, and I couldn't be prouder of the result."
With 'Kaleidoscope', Shaza invites audiences to embark on an unforgettable musical odyssey—one that celebrates diversity, creativity, and the beauty of life itself.
