Mzansi's Hottest Stars Turn Up For The Launch Of Tropika Island Of Treasure Season 12

Some of Mzansi’s biggest celebrities turned out in full force yesterday at The Ivy Garden in Bedfordview, celebrating the official launch of the highly anticipated 12th season of Tropika Island of Treasure. The star-studded event was buzzing as celebrities mingled, teased island drama, and got fans hyped for what's set to be the smooothest season yet.
This season's confirmed celebrity contestants, Nadia Nakai, Caster Semenya, Leandie du Randt, Amanda Du-Pont, Sandile Mahlangu, Lalela Mswane, and Wiseman Mncube were all in attendance and opened up about their excitement ahead of the upcoming season. Francois Hougaard, based in the UK, was unable to join but sent his island vibes from afar.
The launch was a true who's-who of Mzansi talent, with other spotted celebs including Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Bobby Van Jaarsveld, Chanley Wong, Candice Modiselle, Kgosi Rankhumise, Ndavi Nokeri, Nay Maps, Shashi Naidoo, and more. The event featured tropical cocktails, photo ops, and sneak peeks at the show's fresh twists, including the announcement of companion series Tropika Island Search, leaving everyone eager for the adventure ahead.
Auditions Are Officially Open
Tropika is on the hunt for eight smoooth members of the public to join the season 12 celebrities on the island. Think you have what it takes to compete alongside these celebrities? Upload your audition tape to either TikTok, Facebook, X or Instagram, tagging @MyTropika and using the hashtag #Tropika. Finalists will compete for the grand prize of a shared R1 million and receive a R10,000 shopping voucher from Pep to ensure they are island-ready in style. Auditions are now open and close on 5 May 2026.
With an incredible line-up of celebrities, the upcoming 12th season of Tropika Island of Treasure promises to be its smooothest, most unforgettable adventure yet.
