One Week Left To Vote For Your Favourites To Win At The 10th Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards

There are only six sleeps left to cast your vote for your favourite comedian and funny brand to win at this year’s Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards. This year, to bring the awards closer to the public, four of the categories now go out for comedy fans to vote for their favourite.
The categories open to public voting are:
Breakthrough Act of the Year Award
This award celebrates the best breakthrough comedian, shortlisted for by the comedy industry. The nominees in this category are: Linde Sibanda, Nkosinathi Maki, Nonto R, Suhayl Essa and Thabiso Mhlongo.
Sauce of the Year Award, Presented by Mrs. Balls
This award celebrates any tactical piece of content or social commentary that really flavoured things up over the past year. The nominees in this category are: Dillan Oliphant, Sifiso Nene, Thabiso Mhlongo and Wazi M Kunene.
UpLIFTing Comedic Content Award, Presented by LIFT
As the name suggests, this award celebrates the most UpLIFTing comedic content. The nominees in this category are: Linde Sibanda, Nina Hastie, Rory Petzer, Tsitsi Chiumya and Vafa Naraghi.
Funny is Funny Award
This one’s for brands and agencies. Comedians like being asked what’s funny, so let’s let them decide shall we? Agencies were asked to enter their funniest ads, and the five below were shortlisted by the comedy industry. The nominees in this category are: Checkers Sixty60, Courier Guy, King Price Insurance, Nando’s and WeBuyCars.
Votes have been pouring in since the nominees were announced on 8 March 2023. Cast yours at www.comicschoice.com before midnight on 2 April. Fans who vote are automatically placed in the running to win an exclusive VIP trip to the awards on 15 April.

The winners will be announced at a glamorous black tie birthday celebration event at The Galleria in Sandton on 15 April 2023. Find out who’ll walk away with one of the 10 awards, whilst being entertained by comedy sketches from your favourite comedians, and celebrity appearances from your favourite stars. It’s going to be quite the night!
