This year’s Freedom Day concert is at the City Hall in Cape Town on Saturday 27 April at 20h00. SAMA award winner Moreira comments: “I am extremely honoured to be included in this prestigious line-up for the City Hall Sessions. Freedom Day has great significance for all of us because it reminds us of the sacrifices made to achieve democracy and how South Africa in particular has triumphed against many odds to achieve peace. South Africa has set standards for other countries to show that with negotiation and mediation, a workable, sustainable result can be achieved. I have enormous respect for the other performers on the bill and I’m looking forward to renewing old friendships and sharingThe Moreira Project with all Capetonians.”
