Supporting Children’s Dreams One Plush Toy at a Time
This December, Hyprop Malls across South Africa have transformed into magical destinations with Disney Charity Trees, in collaboration with FNB, PEP, and Toys R Us. These festive trees offer families the chance to celebrate the season while contributing to a meaningful cause. In partnership with Reach for a Dream, the initiative aims to bring joy and fulfil dreams for children facing life-threatening illnesses.
The Disney Charity Trees, adorned with enchanting plush toys and sparkling gold swirls, allow shoppers to participate by donating R50 at the tree. Donations not only help fulfil children’s dreams but also enter participants into a lucky draw for one of four R5,000 PEP vouchers.
Christie Stanbridge, Hyprop’s Brand and Campaigns Marketing Manager, shared her excitement:"The Disney Charity Trees bring together the festive spirit of joy and generosity. We are proud to partner with Disney Africa and Reach for a Dream to help children create memories that last a lifetime."
With each Disney plush toy purchased at Toys R Us, R5 is donated to Reach for a Dream, amplifying the campaign’s impact.
Spreading Festive Cheer Across Hyprop Malls
In addition to the Charity Trees, participating Hyprop Malls are hosting Disney-inspired activities that promise a magical holiday experience for families:
- Canal Walk’s Holiday Ice Slides: Featuring thrilling ice slides, kinetic sand play, and Disney-themed activities.
- Table Bay Mall’s Gifts of Joy Workshop: Craft snow globes, decorate biscuits, and enjoy holiday-themed creativity.
- Somerset Mall’s Festive Crafts Workshop: Mickey and Minnie-inspired arts and crafts, including Christmas card decorating.
- Capegate Ice Rink: A magical skating experience for children aged 3 to 13.
- Woodlands’ Sea to Safari Adventure: Lion King and Moana-themed crafts, fun games, and photo opportunities.
- Clearwater Mall’s Creative Corner: Engage in Disney-inspired craft workshops for unforgettable holiday magic.
Families can also meet Santa Claus for memorable festive photos at selected malls.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
The Disney Charity Trees represent more than just holiday decor; they embody Hyprop’s commitment to community upliftment. Julia Sotirianakos, CEO of Reach for a Dream, stated:"This partnership with Hyprop and Disney Africa allows us to bring dreams to life for children who need it most. Every donation sparks hope and joy in the lives of children battling serious illnesses."
The campaign is further amplified through Disney Channel advertisements, showcasing the significance of the 20 national Disney Charity Trees, with eight proudly hosted by Hyprop Malls.
