Jacaranda FM's Rob Forbes Pops The Question During Dreamy Greek Getaway

He’s getting married! Jacaranda FM’s Rob Forbes recently announced his engagement to radio personality Leah Jazz after a magical proposal during a breathtaking Greek vacation.

Rob Forbes, who co-hosts ‘The Drive With Rob and Roz’ every weekday between 16:00 and 19:00 on Jacaranda FM, has always been known for his love of travel and adventure. This time, he took his partner on an unforgettable journey to the picturesque landscapes of Greece, where crystal blue waters meet ancient history – the perfect backdrop to ask the love of his life to marry him.

When asked why he decided to propose in the Mediterranean hotspot, Rob says “I chose Greece because it's always been near the top of my travel-list (the food, the views, the sea), and Leah backpacked around a couple of the islands years ago and she absolutely loved it, so it has special significance to her as well.”

Rob explains that the island of Nafplio was the perfect place to pop the question after doing some research online. “When I was doing my homework and gathering suggestions for where to stay and visit, Nafplio came up often. I had a look and thought that might be the perfect place to propose, but being there in person made it clear that it was the right place.” He adds “The town is absolutely breathtaking and romantic as you can imagine. It's just beautiful little cobblestoned streets, Bougainvilleas in bloom everywhere, with stunning little bars and restaurants all over. Just bursting with vibes. It was perfect - an absolute must-visit. It's not called "the most romantic city in Greece" for nothing.”

Rob adds that he spent a lot of time designing the perfect ring. “I knew Leah wanted something unique, and had always liked an art deco style in jewellery. I reached out to a local jewellery designer in Langebaan in the Cape and she came up with some custom designs for me. It turned out perfectly. I'm very happy, and Leah's in love,” he says.

Naturally, Leah was thrilled when Rob popped the question. “Leah knew something was up, but the timing and where we were was a surprise,” Rob shares. “She dropped what she was carrying when I got down on one knee! It was a yes, and tears, and laughing, and we celebrated long into the evening.”

As Rob and his fiancée return to South Africa, they look forward to planning their wedding and continuing to build their life together. Fans can expect to hear all about Rob’s upcoming wedding plans on the radio show – which promises to make for very entertaining radio.
