Emperors Palace Announces New Christmas Village Experience
Submitted by: Lee HerrmannThe Palace of Dreams to launch new, Bavarian-style Christmas destination for the Festive Season, boasting lights, market and holiday activities for the entire family.
With the Festive Season quickly approaching Emperors Palace in Kempton Park announces it’s newest Christmas holiday destination. Dubbed the Christmas Village at Emperors Palace, this Bavarian-style village market will be a dedicated winter wonderland for the whole family, spanning approximately 2 rugby fields.
‘We’re bringing back the magic of the Christmas holidays in a big way!’ says Complex Operations Executive Clive Tavener. ‘After the events of the last two years we’re excited to treat our guests to a festive holiday experience that has never been seen before, and that can go on uninterrupted - through rain or shine.’
The Christmas Village at Emperors Palace will be located in the covered parking area at the resort and will be transformed into an authentic Bavarian-style village complete with artificial snow, lights, market and a town square. ‘Guests will be treated to an authentic European-style Christmas, which will be a first in South Africa,’ continues Tavener. ‘Young and old will be astonished at the scale and attention detail. It’ll feel like strolling through a quaint town at Christmas, marvelling at the festive windows, visiting stalls and enjoying Christmas delicacies with the family. This will prove to be the must-see event of the season.’
The Christmas Village at Emperors Palace will welcome guests with the Tunnel of Lights, showcasing thousands of lights, before entering Snow Town where you can shop for at the market or enjoy a selection of village street food. The Village Square is up next bringing the fantasy of a winter wonderland to life, including the Father Christmas Factory, Photo Alley, Hall of Mirrors, Town Hall and the Christmas Graffiti Wall, where children and adults alike are invited to leave their Christmas greetings and goodwill messages. The journey concludes in the Winter Wonderland Experience, boasting a breath-taking light display, complete with fairies, elves, gnomes, goblins, mushroom garden and reindeers peeking out from a fantasy forest.
The magic of this event will be provided by Imagineering Corporation, who have conceptualised,
organised and implemented some of the biggest and most successful public and corporate events in South Africa over the past 44 years. In the past they have partnered with such big brands as Disney, Vodacom, World Bank and Sun International.
Tickets for The Christmas Village will go on sale from 30 September. Visiting sessions will be hourly starting from 18h00 and ending at 22h00, running daily from 24 November up until 6 January 2023. Family packages will be available, as well as discounts for Winners Circle Members.
