Emperors Palace Christmas Village Officially Opens

Emperors Palace ushered in the festive season in grand style on 3 December, hosting an exclusive Media and VIP Opening of its spectacular annual Christmas Village. The highly anticipated event marked the official start of the resort’s festive programme, highlighted by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Emperors Palace Complex Executive, Clive Tavener,

The preview evening offered invited guests and media a first look at this year’s theme, “A Snowy White Christmas”, showcasing elaborate upgrades and expansions including an new Coc Cola Ski Deck on Level 4 of the parking structure.  As always, the immersive experience featured sparkling lights, themed zones, festive displays, and family-friendly attractions that promise to delight thousands of visitors throughout December.

‘Each year, the Christmas Village grows not only in scale but also in its ability to share the spirit of the festive season,’ said Tavener. ‘We are proud to offer a festive experience that captures the magic of the season and creates lasting memories for our guests.’

Guests at the opening event were treated to guided walk-throughs of the Village’s enchanting features, including the Tunnel of Lights, the North Pole, the Winter Village, the Olde World Neighbourhood, and the ever-popular Santa’s Warehouse. The evening also showcased a variety of artisanal stalls, festive treats, and photo hotspots designed for families, media creators, and holiday enthusiasts.

The Christmas Village opens to the public from 4 December to 30 December, with daily afternoon and evening time slots. With ticket prices starting from R45, the festive attraction remains one of Gauteng’s most accessible and beloved year-end experiences.

‘This is our way of sharing joy, wonder, and a bit of festive sparkle with the community,’ added Irvin Nkosi, Emperors Palace Promotions and Entertainment Manager. ‘This year guests will be wowed by our upgrade, so they better hurry and buy tickets before all the slots are sold out.’
