Capegate Shopping Centre Brings Wine, Beer, Music and Rugby Together for Unmissable Corks & Kegs Festival

Capegate Shopping Centre is celebrating in true South African style this spring with the Corks & Kegs Festival, a two-day celebration of local flavour, live music and hard-hitting rugby action. Set to take place on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 September, just outside Entrance 2 near Woolworths, the festival promises a packed line-up and an electric atmosphere.
Festivalgoers will enjoy live performances by artists including Mark Haze, Bok van Blerk, Brandon Miles, DJ Jinx and DJ Rubicon. Local favourites Saterdag Vanaand will also take the stage, adding a distinctly South African sound to the weekend.
Live screenings of the Stormers vs Leinster and Springboks vs Los Pumas matches will be broadcast on a big screen, bringing together fans over food, drinks and tries. Expect cheering, beer clinking and shared highs (or lows) as the nation’s favourite game takes centre stage.
Capegate Marketing Manager Zoë Enslin says the festival is designed to deliver an experience that keeps people coming back:“Corks & Kegs is a full weekend experience. We’ve paired good food with great music, added a mix of wines and craft beers, and made sure fans won’t miss a second of the rugby. It’s all about atmosphere, quality and connection.”

From delicious street food to fine local pours, Corks & Kegs is positioned as a highlight on the Western Cape’s spring calendar. With a strict no under 18s policy, the event is geared toward those looking for a well-curated adult outing. Security and responsible consumption remain top priorities.
“Capegate is always looking for new ways to bring people together,” says Enslin. “Whether you’re here for the rugby, the music or the tastings, you’ll leave with a few new favourites.”
