A Spectacular Line-up at the 16th Annual India Day SA India Carnival!

Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa The India Club, in association with the Consulate General of India, Johannesburg, is excited to unveil the extraordinary program for the India Day SA India Carnival, set to take place on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM at the DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
This year’s theme, "Joy of Freedom," will be brought to life through a dazzling array of performances, with a total of 50 captivating acts featuring 600 talented performers. The event promises a vibrant celebration of culture, diversity, and artistic excellence.

- 16 Indian State Performances: Witness traditional dance forms from across India, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of states like Assam, Odisha, Bengal, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and more.
- 8 Local Performances: Enjoy the talent and creativity of local artists, blending South African and Indian cultural expressions.
- 26 Johannesburg-based Artists: Delight in a variety of Bollywood, fusion, and classical dance styles presented by local stars.

- Darpan Dance Studio Kathak (Shika Harrypaul): Graceful and intricate Kathak dance.
- Aap ka Suraj (Suraj): Mesmerizing musical performance.
- Oriental Fire (Tina): High-energy Bollywood dance.
- Nomsa Manaka Dance Studio brings two traditional dancers to the main stage
- Sitare (Anisha Bramdew): Elegant classical dance.
- Surya Art of Dance (Riona Maharaj): Dynamic and vibrant dance routines.
Special Highlights:
- Nomsa Manaka Dance Studio: Legendary dance teacher, choreographer, and actress Nomsa Manaka will support India Day 2024 with two traditional dance outfits, adding a unique blend of South African traditional dance to the program.
- Live Band Performance: Conclude the day with an exhilarating live band performance, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.
A highlight of the India Day SA India Carnival, Soweto Shining Stars Youth Production will captivate the audience with three dynamic performances this year: the traditional Tswana Dance, the energetic Sbhujwa/Pantsula Dance, and the vibrant Drum Majorettes. These performances promise to bring the vibrant rhythms and cultural richness of South Africa to the celebration, creating an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
India Day 2024 is not just a celebration of Indian Independence Day; it is a melting pot of cultures and a demonstration of the rich diversity shared by India and South Africa. The event will feature vendors, artisans, and entrepreneurs, offering a holistic experience that brings together the best of both worlds.
