Gauteng, South Africa — The stage is set for a groundbreaking celebration of faith, talent, and artistry as the very first Gospel Eminence Music Awards (GEMAs) take place on Sunday, 9 November 2025.

With the theme “Honouring Excellence, Celebrating Worship”, the awards will shine a spotlight on the incredible voices and visionaries shaping South Africa’s gospel music landscape.

Nominations Closed, Anticipation Builds

Nominations officially closed on 5 September 2025, with overwhelming support from gospel lovers across the country. Now, all eyes are on the much-anticipated Nominee Announcement, which will premiere LIVE on YouTube (Gospel Eminence Music Awards TV) on 26 September 2025 at 19:00.

“This is history in the making. On 9 November, we are not only celebrating gospel music but honouring the people who dedicate their lives to uplifting communities through worship,” said Lindokuhle Sibisi, Founder and Executive Producer of the Gospel Eminence Music Awards.

Call for Choir Auditions

The stage will also open for fresh voices! Choir auditions will take place on 27 September 2025 at Banner of Truth Ministries International (Devland Ext 27, Gauteng). Registration starts at 07:30 AM, and auditions begin at 08:00 AM. Singers, praise and worship members, and backing vocalists aged 18–40 are encouraged to audition for a chance to perform on the inaugural GEMAs stage.
