Gerda de Sousa and Dianne Broodryk’s ‘Mevrou Mevrou’ Proves Real Conversations Never Go Out of Style As Third Season Builds Momentum

A few weeks into its third season, ‘Mevrou Mevrou’, the JacPod original hosted by Jacaranda FM’s Gerda de Sousa and Dianne Broodryk, continues to prove that honest, relatable conversations never lose their appeal. What began as two friends chatting about life, love, and everything in between has grown into one of South Africa’s most beloved Afrikaans podcasts, blending laughter, honesty, and heart in every episode.
Now in full swing, the third season of Mevrou Mevrou has built on its early momentum with an exciting new video element, allowing fans to not only listen to new episodes every Tuesday but also watch the duo in action on Jacaranda FM’s YouTube channel. The new format has deepened the sense of intimacy and connection that listeners love, turning every episode into a shared moment of reflection, humour, and warmth.
From light-hearted confessions about ridding their bodies of parasites to tips on surviving award shows and year-end work functions, Gerda and Dianne continue to blend playful banter with deeply human insight. Their ability to tackle universal themes, friendship, motherhood, self-doubt, and everything in between, in a way that feels authentically Afrikaans yet universally relatable remains the secret to Mevrou Mevrou’s success.
Earlier this month, the second season of Mevrou Mevrou was honoured at the 2025 WesBank New Generation Awards in the ‘Best Use of Podcast / Vlog to Promote a Brand or Event’ category. The award celebrated the show’s power to spark genuine conversation while building a loyal and ever-growing community around it.
“We were blown away by the win,” says Gerda de Sousa. “Mevrou Mevrou started as two friends having real conversations, sometimes funny, sometimes serious, but always honest. To be recognised for that feels amazing, and we’re so grateful to everyone who listens, shares, and laughs along with us.”
Dianne Broodryk adds, “This podcast has become such a special space for us and for our listeners. It just proves that people are hungry for real, unscripted connection. The award means the world, but what we love most is that we have created a platform where people feel like they’re sitting at the table with us. Season 3 is about continuing that energy and having a little fun in the process.”
Tune in to brand-new episodes of Mevrou Mevrou every Tuesday morning on Jacaranda FM’s JacPod platform on www.jacarandafm.com or watch the full episodes on the Jacaranda FM YouTube channel. Additionally, the podcast is available on iono.fm, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and anywhere else podcasts are consumed. For more information, visit https://www.jacarandafm.com/jacpod/mevrou-mevrou/.
With humour, honesty, and heart, Mevrou Mevrou continues to prove why real conversations never go out of style.
