Born Ayomde Emmanuel Olagunje, Nigerian musician and songwriter Leczy says that despite the difficult times that are currently being faced by many, it has been essential for him to express gratitude for his ongoing blessings. The COVID-19 pandemic lockdown measures that have been put in place have different industries throughout the country in vulnerable positions, but the entertainment industry remains the most affected. With record stores having to close shop and venues not being able to function to their full capacity, entertainers are not able to perform as much as they used to.
Despite all this, Leczy remains grateful for everything that he has during these hard times. As an artist, the best way he knows how to express himself is through music which is what inspired the release of his latest single titled ‘Blessings’. In the song, he features renowned Nigerian artist, Ice Prince. “Ice Prince is a legend in the music industry, someone that I look up to, so it made perfect sense for me to feature him on my latest offering,” he says.
Leczy is a Cape Town based artist/songwriter who was discovered by an independent record label called Creative Energy. Having experimented with various roles such as script writing, acting, songwriting, and magazine production, Leczy is no stranger to the entertainment industry.
The talented artist demonstrates his diversity using Afro-Pop, Hip Hop, and Afro Beats. Leczy says that he does not want to confine himself to one specific sound which is why his next project is an Amapiano song, a genre that is currently making waves in the music industry. He is determined to leave a mark in the African entertainment industry and has more exciting projects in store.
