Hytec South Africa, a Bosch Rexroth Africa Group Company, is proud to announce the appointment of Valenchia Swan as the Branch Manager of its Sasolburg branch, effective 1 May 2024. Swan’s journey within the company, marked by dedication and leadership, has led her to this significant role.
Swan has been instrumental in driving several key initiatives during her tenure at Hytec South Africa. One notable accomplishment was introducing the site hose container at Arcelor Mittal for safekeeping hoses, fittings, connections, and other accessories when not in use. This initiative streamlined operations and enhanced safety protocols, showcasing Swan’s ability to implement practical solutions in industrial environments.
Her appointment drives the Group’s People and Culture pillar of its business strategy, which aims to break barriers and foster a diverse and inclusive environment. Under this pillar, women on the move making significant strides in a male-dominated industry are celebrated, empowered, and encouraged.
As a woman in leadership, Swan shares a motivational message with women aspiring towards similar positions: “Remember, your journey can inspire and pave the way for others. Together we can break barriers, shatter glass ceilings, and create a more inclusive and diverse industry. Your unique perspective and talents are invaluable. Embrace your journey with confidence and determination, believe in yourself, seek mentorship and support, advocate for yourself, and know that you have the power to achieve great success.”
Swan began her career at the company in 2013 as a Junior Technical Sales Representative. “I was eager to dive into the world of hydraulics and automation,” Swan recalls. In her first three years, she focused on gaining a deep understanding of the industry and its customers by seeking mentorship from senior colleagues and familiarising herself with the technical aspects of the company’s products and services.
Looking ahead, Swan plans to implement several strategic initiatives to drive growth and innovation through her role. “I have the privilege of leading a fantastic team at Hytec South Africa and I am committed to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and teamwork.”
The Group congratulates Swan on her appointment and wishes her the best in her new role.
