Powertime App and website allows Bill Payment in Cape Town and Durban

Users can now pay their municipality bill from their computers or smartphones

Cape Town, South Africa - Powertime launches a new bill payment service allowing users to pay their municipality bills online and from their mobile phones. The new functionality will be available from the web and mobi site www.powertime.co.za as well as from the Powertime applications for iPhone, Android and soon BlackBerry10.

This new feature will enable City of Cape Town and Durban residents to pay their electricity, water and tax & rates bills in one click, anywhere and at any time. Payment can be made via credit card, debit card, EFT and the PayGenius electronic wallet. The functionality also includes the possibility to manage multiple bills and save the transaction history.

Cape Town and Durban are the first municipalities to activate Powertime’s bill payment solutions. Negociations are actualy in process to expand the offer to new municipalities across South Africa. “We are extremely pleased to introduce this section in City of Cape Town and Durban and hope that more more municipalities will follow suit.,” says Sebastien Lacour, Powertime Managing Director.
