Hetzner has decided to absorb the increase in VAT and not pass it onto our customers, keeping our pricing unchanged for as long as possible.

Price increase considerations

Hetzner does not believe that the VAT increase is an adequate trigger for a price increase. There are a number of factors taken into consideration when reviewing pricing. 

As the largest specialist hosting provider in South Africa, Hetzner always look for the perfect price/performance ratio. Hetzner regularly reviews their pricing and measures the necessity of an increase against three factors: the expertise they offer, that has been developed over many years; their investment in their own infrastructure and data centre facilities to deliver a quality business grade hosting experience (comparable to international standards); and improved hardware specifications over time, that cater to their customers' evolving needs. 

Service improvements 

As global input costs continue to increase, Hetzner may not be able to avoid price adjustments indefinitely. But they prefer to look at price increases tied to improvements in their service. If an adjustment is required in the future, Hetzner will carefully consider the value they offer their customers.
