New hybrid PBX system from Duxbury Networking
Submitted by: Howard MelletThe new Mitel MiVoice Office 400, a hybrid PBX system capable of supporting between four and 400 users, is now available from Duxbury Networking. Designed to meet professional communications requirements in small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) it includes a number of optional communication servers, terminals, software and mobility solutions as well as unified and collaborative communication applications.
“It addresses the comprehensive performance spectrum demanded by modern organisations,” says Andy Robb chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking. He explains that the hybrid solution - essentially a mix of a classical hardware phone system and modern software-based communication server technology - combines the best of both worlds, adding the value of modern unified communications and collaboration technology to the advantages of a traditional PBX system.
“The ability to provide efficient call handling is a key factor for most companies, small or large,” notes Robb. “The way callers – who might well be potential customers – are handled is one of the factors defining the levels of competency and professionalism within the business from the public’s perspective.”
He says MiVoice Office 400 is able to play a fundamental role in phone-based customer service, ensuring a flexible integration into users’ existing telephony environments and applications. “As a central point of information, it enables more efficient handling of call traffic and more effective call management – well beyond levels associated with the taking and transferring of calls.”
He lists technologies integral to the Mitel solution - such as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and XML (Extensible Markup Language) - as bases for the development of modern, innovative communication and integrated mobility solutions such as the new Mitel release.
Key features of the MiVoice Office 400 include IP, digital and analogue handsets and trunking options, call recording and video conferencing. In addition, mobile VoIP and voicemail-to-email functions are standard in a system that is networkable and stackable.
Robb adds that Duxbury Networking, using the Mitel platform, is able to provide specific telephony solutions – including monitoring and alarm systems - for contact centres, care facilities, hotels and multi-site companies.
