London, UK – Access Partnership has enhanced its capacity to deliver national policy changes and multilateral outcomes across Africa with the appointment of Peter Zimri, former ICASA Council Member and South African senior official.
Greg Francis, CEO of Access Partnership, stated: “Peter’s regulatory expertise in broadband communications, financial services, and cybersecurity enables us to better serve Africa’s growing markets, building on 25 years of success. His reputation as a leader in multilateral groups is unparalleled.”
Access Partnership recently collaborated with the University of Pretoria, the Centre for Human Rights, and Cisco on a study highlighting Africa’s expanding role in global cybersecurity. Peter Zimri’s appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to advancing inclusive digital transformation. Zimri, a policy leader with over three decades of experience in ICT, broadcasting, and postal public policy, joins the firm to strengthen its African strategy.
Peter Zimri, Senior Adviser, remarked: “Our focus is ensuring Africa’s growth trajectory, leveraging intellectual capital and innovation. Connectivity drives economic growth across key sectors like mining, transport, agriculture, and healthcare.”
Zimri previously served two terms as an Executive Councillor at the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) and as Chair of the Communications Regulators’ Authorities of Southern Africa (CRASA). He played a pivotal role in the country’s first multiband IMT spectrum auction and led the African Telecommunications Group at the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019.
Access Partnership will advance a bold policy agenda in 2025, ensuring secure, trusted broadband access across Africa and globally.
