Any area of a roof where water may accumulate or dam up must be repaired by installing drains, polyurethane foam build-up or the application of a patch compound or any practical and effective means necessary to remove and prevent water damming up on the roof in the future. This then completes the roof preparation stage. The next task to be performed by the roof painting contractors is to prime the roof. For new or previously painted rooftops they need to be primed with a quality bond before applying the roof paint. The quality bond will penetrate and seal the surface so that the roof painters can start with a clean firm base ahead of the final finished paint coating.
