Public Works and Infrastructure Minister launches CIDB B.U.I.L.D Programme
Submitted by: Sibusiso Mtungwa11 March 2024 - The Construction Industry Development Board (cidb), in partnership with the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, will, on Thursday, 14 March 2024, launch the B.U.I.L.D Programme in Pretoria, South Africa.
The launch aims to promote inclusive development and open doors for emerging contractors. It will also serve as a thorough foundation for the industry, ensuring that infrastructure initiatives significantly advance the country's development goals. The B.U.I.L.D Programme was established in terms of Section 23 within Chapter Four of the Construction Industry Development Board Act, 2000 (Act no. 38 of 2000).
“The launch of the BUILD Programme will help us to further unpack the long-term in transforming the industry. Since it was established, the programme has made many strides and impacted more emerging contractors through the BUILD Fund,” said Mr Bongani Dladla, the CEO of cidb.
Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Mr Sihle Zikalala will deliver the keynote address.
